The experience of therapy can vary depending on the therapist and the specific approach they use, as well as the unique needs and goals of the client. However, in general, therapy sessions typically involve meeting with me, either at our office or via telehealth, to discuss thoughts, feelings, and experiences related to the issues and challenges you are facing.
During therapy sessions, I will often use a variety of techniques and approaches to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and to develop strategies and skills to manage and overcome any challenges you may be facing.
In addition to using specific therapeutic techniques, I will also provide support, guidance, and feedback to help you better understand and address your challenges, and to set and achieve your personal goals. My number one goal is to help you heal and grow, giving you a fresh opportunity to live a better life.
There are many benefits to therapy, including:
- Improving communication and relationship skills
- Managing and reducing symptoms of mental health conditions
- Coping with difficult life events and transitions
- Developing healthier coping mechanisms and behaviors
- Gaining a better understanding of oneself and one’s thoughts and emotions
- Improving self-esteem and self-confidence
- Setting and achieving personal goals
- Finding solutions to problems and conflicts
- Increasing overall well-being and happiness.
A therapy session typically lasts for 50-60 minutes.
However, the length of a therapy session can vary depending on certain factors, such as the specific approach I will use and, more importantly, your unique needs and goals. I may offer longer or shorter sessions depending on these factors.
I will discuss the length of therapy sessions with you to ensure that you have enough time to address your concerns and work towards your therapeutic goals.
In couples therapy, you can expect to work with me to explore the dynamics of your relationship, identify any problems or challenges you may be facing, and develop strategies and skills to improve your communication, trust, and overall connection.
During couples therapy, you and your partner will typically meet with me on a regular basis, either in individual sessions or as a couple. I will help facilitate discussions and provide guidance and support to help you and your partner better understand each other and work through any challenges you may be facing. I will create non-judgmental, safe, and supportive environment for you and your partner to openly discuss your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Couples therapy can be an effective way to strengthen and improve your relationship, and can help you and your partner to better navigate challenges and conflicts and work towards a more fulfilling and satisfying relationship. It is important to remember that therapy is a collaborative process, and your active participation and commitment to the process can greatly enhance its effectiveness.

In general, yes. Therapy sessions are considered to be confidential, which means that I am required to keep the information shared during sessions private and not disclose it to anyone else without the client’s consent. This confidentiality is an important aspect of the therapeutic relationship, as it allows you to feel safe and comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with me.
There are, however, some exceptions to the confidentiality of therapy sessions. For example, if a client shares information about being a danger to themselves or others, I may be required by law to report this information to the appropriate authorities to ensure the safety of the client and others. Additionally, if a client is under the age of 18, I may be required to inform the client’s parents or guardians about the therapy sessions and the information discussed.
