Meet the Therapists

Tammie Walker, MSW, LCSW

Psychology has been a passion of mine since high school. I attended Governors State University where I achieved my Master’s in Social Work. The majority of my training during graduate school focused on an underserved population with mental illness and psychological disorders that required a higher level of care.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with experience and dedication. Currently licensed in the state of Illinois, I am expanding my reach to make a positive impact in more communities. In addition, I am licensed in the states of Utah, Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Maryland, and Virginia.

In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a registered Supervisor with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for clinical supervision. I have also contracted with Governors State University as a Field Supervisor, providing guidance and mentorship to students/interns completing their graduate studies.

Through these experiences, I have gained a deep appreciation for the challenges clients face in treatment and recovery. Mental illness has an incredible impact on family, social environments, and labor. I work to identify areas of concern, create a treatment plan, and aid to reduce symptoms.

I utilize motivational interviewing and a faith-based, goal-oriented approach to meet clients where they are in their journey. I am able to partner with them to help the process of healing within to reach their full potential.

When I am not in the office, I am enjoying quality time with my devoted husband and lovely two daughters on a nice vacation, or you might see me rolling around on roller or ice skates. If I appear deeply indulged just know that I am protecting your privacy by not approaching you however, I will definitely stop for a quick hello if you address me.

Rhonda Goddard, NCC

My name is Rhonda Goddard, and I believe that meaningful change begins when clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. My approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that every person brings a unique story, set of experiences, and strengths into the therapeutic space. I believe in meeting clients where they are, without judgment or pressure, and creating a safe environment where they can explore their experiences, develop greater self-awareness, and work toward meaningful change. It is my privilege to walk alongside my clients throughout their healing journey.

I have experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan, including adolescents, teens, adults, older adults, and couples, as well as individuals from a variety of cultural and life backgrounds. My clinical interests include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship and attachment concerns, life transitions, communication difficulties, and the emotional impact of high-stress or traumatic experiences. I utilize an integrative, client-centered approach tailored to each client’s individual needs, strengths, values, and goals. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and, when appropriate, incorporate trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions to help clients process distressing experiences, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier ways of responding to their emotions and experiences.

Prior to entering the counseling profession, I spent many years working in 911 emergency communications and public safety, including leadership within emergency services. That experience provided me with an extensive background in crisis management, critical incidents, trauma exposure, high-stress decision-making, and supporting individuals during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. It also gave me a unique understanding of the emotional demands placed on first responders, 911 professionals, public safety personnel, and their families. I bring that experience into my work with clients who have experienced trauma, chronic stress, crisis, or other emotionally demanding circumstances.

For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-based integration, providing an opportunity to incorporate a client’s faith, spirituality, and personal beliefs into the counseling process. Faith integration is always guided by the client’s preferences and is never imposed as part of treatment.

Above all, I view counseling as a collaborative relationship. My role is not to tell clients who they should become, but to help them better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, work through experiences that may be holding them back, and develop the tools necessary to move forward. Whether you are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, depression, a major life transition, or simply trying to understand yourself on a deeper level, my goal is to provide a space where you can feel supported while doing the work.

Jariah Walker

I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive space where individuals and groups feel heard, understood, and empowered to work through life’s challenges. My role is to listen without judgment, validate your emotions, and work alongside you to develop a plan that supports meaningful growth and helps you become the best version of yourself.

Life can be difficult, and at times, anxiety, unresolved tension, past experiences, and everyday stressors can leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I specialize in helping clients build resilience, identify the “boulders” that may be standing in the way of their growth, and develop healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges.

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients recognize and reframe negative thought patterns, better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and develop practical coping strategies that can be used in everyday life.

My goal is simple: to provide a safe place for you to be heard, work through what is holding you back, and develop the tools needed to move forward with intention.

Danielle D. Smart

Danielle D. Smart is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s student at Liberty University with a passion for helping individuals develop greater self-awareness, navigate life’s challenges, and work toward meaningful change. Her interest in counseling developed through years of working closely with people and recognizing the important role that emotional well-being, relationships, and life experiences can play in personal growth.

Danielle holds a Master of Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Sociology and is a certified Professional Life Coach, Goal Success Life Coach, and Life Purpose Coach. She brings more than 10 years of people-focused professional experience, including coaching, leadership, talent development, and supporting individuals through periods of growth and transition.

Danielle’s decision to pursue Clinical Mental Health Counseling was influenced by her recognition that the challenges individuals face are not always resolved by identifying a goal or developing a plan. Presenting concerns may be connected to underlying experiences, emotions, relationship patterns, and other factors that benefit from deeper exploration. Her counseling education is allowing her to build the clinical knowledge and skills necessary to support that process in a thoughtful, ethical, and individualized way.

Danielle has a particular interest in interpersonal and family relationships and the dynamics that influence how individuals relate to themselves and others. Coming from a large family has contributed to her appreciation for the complexity of both immediate and extended family relationships and the ways those relationships can influence individual experiences. Her additional areas of interest include life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem, career concerns, personal growth, and relationship challenges.

Danielle approaches her work with warmth, curiosity, collaboration, and respect for each person’s individual experiences. She looks forward to supporting clients as they gain insight into their experiences, build effective coping skills, and work toward greater emotional well-being.
